Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer in-person pick up?
All of our sales are online at the moment, no farm pick up. I am hoping to do an in person sale in 2027.
How do you handle viruses?
I do everything possible to keep my dahlias as healthy as possibly. That includes sanitizing tools between cuts, and culling any dahlias with signs of viruses. While it’s impossible to prevent fully and simply a part of growing dahlias, I still take these precautions very serious.
How to plant dahlias?
Planting dahlias is very subjective to your location. I can only speak for what works for me, in my area. I live in 8b, Tumwater, WA.
I wait until the risk of frost is over and plant each dahlia 6” deep in an area with 6-8 hours of sun. I wait until there are 2-3” sprouts before I start watering daily. If you live in a dry hot place than that wouldn’t work for you. Your dahlias might dry out.
Dahlias will rot with too much water. I water once a day all summer long and that is good for ME in MY area. You might need deeper watering in a hot place.
What to do with a mislabel?
I am meticulous about labeling and relabeling and relabeling 😂 along the dahlia journey. Unfortunately, misslabels can still get through the cracks.
If your dahlia is mislabeled please contact me with pictures before August 31 for a possible refund. I genuinely want you to be happy with your purchase. If you got the wrong item I will be sure to rectify it.
What are your dahlia quality standards?
If you know dahlias, you know that healthy tubers come in all sizes and shapes. Some dahlias make small tubers that grow robust plants. Some dahlias make wrinkly odd shaped tubers that grow robust plants. And some dahlias make perfect, impeccable drumstick shaped beauties.
When ordering a variety of dahlias you inevitably get a variety of shapes. I do my best to only ship viable tubers. 99% of the tubers I ship are actively spouting.
Once your tubers arrive please inspect them and decide whether you are happy with the selection. If you aren’t happy contact me within 72 hrs of delivery. You will have to send them back for the refund. All shipping fees are nonrefundable. After 72 hours from delivery, the tubers are solely your responsibility to keep alive and grow.
